Summary

This course examines electricity production from various forms of renewable energy, and provides a survey of the function, operation and vision of the smart grid. Renewable energy sources including solar, wind, tidal, geothermal and others are studied in detail, covering availability, dispersion, methods of recovery, utilization and integration into the Smart Grid.

Who should participate? This course is designed for technicians, customer service representatives, line workers, electricians, system operators, transmission planners, IT-cyber security officers, engineers, and anyone else interested in learning about renewable energy and the smart grid.

Delivery Method

This is an self-study course with approximately 10 to 12 hours of content and is worth 1 CEU. This course is online, so students can access it any time, anywhere and 24x7.

Program schedule

The course is open for registration at any time. Participants who register between June 1 and November 30 will have access to the course until December 31. Participants who register between December 1 and May 31 will have access to the course until June 30. Participants will have access to the material within three (3) working days after registration.
