This program certificate, offered by Bismarck State College, provides the basics of electric power generation, transmission and distribution.
This certificate requires
- 15 Electric Power Technology Courses (41 credit hours)
- 3 to 4 Specialization Courses (12 credit hours) in your choice of one of the following areas: Line Construction, Metering, Substation, or System Design.
- 2 classes from two different areas of study (4 credit hours)
All credits in the Certificate coursework will apply if you pursue the AAS in Electric Power Technology and the BSAST in Energy Utility Technology.
Program schedule
Bismarck State College’s Online Energy courses last 3 to 5 weeks. You take one course at a time and are able to complete 3-5 courses per traditional semester. We recommend that you start at the beginning of a semester (January, May, and August). You may register for courses during a semester because courses start approximately every month. A sequence of courses is recommended, but there are no pre-requisites. Most courses are offered 2 to 3 times per year.
